Haylestorm Samba is a community Samba band based in Redruth, Cornwall.

We play the stress relieving Brazilian grooves to anyone who wants to listen, or play!

Happily welcoming new members, even those with no musical experience, our band has a wide range of people all from different backgrounds and ages.

Our rehearsal night is a Wednesday Evening from 8pm at the Redruth Youth Centre.

Gigging throughout the year, we play at different venues across cornwall,

each being unique and exciting! Have a look at our Calender to see when you can watch us live!

Haylestorm Samba is available for booking all year round, for any occasion, static performances or parades. To inquire see Gig booking and rehearsal info

Previous News:
What a fantastic year to date! Look at our previous Gigs section to find out what we’ve been up to!

All of us have made great musical progress, played new instruments and have created clever new pieces to play at a professional standard.  All of our gigs have been a joy to lead, and have all received a joyful reception, with organisers wanting us make again in the not too distant future! I’m rather excited to see the culmination of our years efforts tomorrow at the City Of Lights parade, where just under 20 of us will fill the streets of Truro with the rhythmic sounds of Battucada and James Brown. I hope to upload pictures and videos of the event soon after as long as people send them to me, as I’ll be a bit too busy drumming to take any photo’s!

Thank you to everyone for their devoted enthusiasm and commitment to Haylestorm!

Haylestorm played at Trevithick Day and whipped up a real storm!!  It was a brilliant gig, the whole atmosphere was great, and it started while the band was preparing to play - decorating the new A Board to advertise us at gigs, all members having their faces painted with our lightning stripe logo, and having our usual pre gig warm-up.  A 20 strong band wowed the crowds around the roundabout outside Tyacks Hotel, showing off our new instruments, recently joined members, and our new dancer!  We played 4 pieces - Batucada, Samba Reggae, Haylestorm's Lust for Life, and finished with the Infamous Funk!  Our Leader Ben encouraged full audience participation at the end of the gig, and ended up directing the band and the audience at the same time which everyone thoroughly enjoyed!   Ben will be uploading photos and videos (taken by Pharic and Justin on the day) as soon as college time permits!

Thanks to all who played and hope you had as good a time as I did!
